Gold hits a nine-year high
Gold hits a nine-year high early Wednesday as investors and economists look for more stimulus measures from central banks to ease the economic impact of coronavirus. Silver followed the yellow metal to a near seven-year on hopes of an industrial rebound.
Also bullish for gold is a weaker dollar and the standoff between the U.S. and China which heated up late yesterday when the U.S. closed the Chinese consulate in Houston, Texas, citing the need to protect American intellectual property and the private information of its citizens. Gold has risen for six consecutive weeks.
